The aim of the project is to launch a friendship village initiative between Finland and Germany. The counterpart for the participating municipalities and villages in Germany is the Bad Bevensen–Ebstorf municipal association area with its villages.

The duration of the project is 18 months, implemented between September 1, 2025 – February 28, 2027. The project aims to generate and develop new models of action that engage municipalities and residents in international cooperation. The goal is to create and benchmark participatory practices, enhance interaction, and find new solutions for the development of services and communities. The project promotes regional renewal, new solutions, bold experimentation, new partnerships, and networking, particularly at the international level.
